Emma Cecelia Schad was the second daughter of Adolph and Rosella (Nimerfroh) Schad. Once believed to have been born on March 26, 1897, I now think this is incorrect. I have found records both at the Cottonwood County (MN) Courthouse and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake that point to another Emma Schad, a sibling of this Emma. This "other" Emma was born on February 5, 1899. That makes this "other" Emma younger than the first Emma. I'll explain more later!!
